Founded in 2006, Stone Aside Publishing was originally created by author Lee Stephen to independently publish his science-fiction series, Epic. Formed over concern about the extent to which traditional publishing houses might compromise the integrity of Epic's faith-based message, Stone Aside was never intended to publish material from other authors. That changed in 2023  with the rebranding and relaunching of Epic as Destiny's Edge.

In addition to opening the door for other authors to contribute to the Destiny's Edge Universe, Stone Aside Publishing has also opened its doors to publish other authors' original material. The 2024 release of Isabelle Berg's poetry collection, Years to Come, officially ushered in Stone Aside's next chapter as a small press publisher.
